Hong Ki Hoon is a South Korean former comedian. He graduated from Daejeon Commercial High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Trade from Pai Chai University. He made his debut in 1993 as part of the 4th open recruitment for comedians at MBC and immediately gained notoriety by winning the Rookie Award in the comedy category at the 1994 MBC Entertainment Awards. He began appearing in the most important comedy shows in the network and his characters were often remembered as strong and funny. He also began getting minor roles in dramas and worked as a host of the show "Theme Game" with Kim Gook Jin. His activities started to decrease around 2001 due to issues about his personality and temperament. Rumors began surfacing about a turbulent past and eventually evidence of him being a school bully and a fighter were discovered. He lived in Daejeon since childhood and many instances of violence were brought up by the press and he was exposed as having a violent personality. He dated actress Lee Ah Hyeon and she reported him after they had an argument and he lost his temper and assaulted her resulting in him being booked by the police. He left the industry in 2005 as his reputation was tarnished. He returned to TV in 2010 with an appearance in "Qualifications of Men" and one year later appeared as a guest in "Laugh and Laugh". In 2013, he was a guest in "Radio Star" and since then, he has not appeared in South Korean TV at all as his image was damaged beyond repair. In 2021, he opened his own Youtube channel and he is now a businessman.
