Kim Bo Sung, born Heo Seok, is a South Korean actor. He graduated from Daesung High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Shingu University. He had a complicated childhood when his father's business went bankrupt, and his family's financial situation became difficult. He was an excellent student in elementary school but later began neglecting his studies and started getting in trouble. In 1984, he got into a big fight and was saved by a passerby who later reunited with him on TV in the mid-1990s but suffered an injury to his left eye which is why he wears sunglasses most of the time.
After being an extra in many theatrical productions, he made his debut in 1989 with a role in the movie "Happiness Does Not Come In Grades", thanks to his relationship with director Kang Woo Seok.
Since then, he has tended to appear in movies or dramas that can heighten his manly personality and often plays the role of a cop or a detective and likes to film action scenes himself as he practiced taekwondo and boxing for many years.
In 2010, he appeared in the Russian movie "Pyataya Kazn, The Fifth Plague" and later revealed he took the role because of a failed stock investment that caused him to lose millions, so he needed the money. He also appeared on variety shows and recorded several commercials.
In 2021, he legally changed his name to include his birth name and his stage name, so he is officially known as Heo Seok Kim Bo Sung, with Heo being the last name and the rest being the given name.
