Liu Jia, born in Hegang of Heilongjiang province, is a Chinese actress. In 1977, she was selected by the crew of the movie "Three Black Triangles" to play the female lead. When the movie was released in 1978, her performance was well received. In the same year, she was admitted to the Beijing Film Academy. While still schooling, she continued to make movies, thus embarking on an acting career. After graduating from the film academy with honors in 1982, she was assigned to Tianjin TV Station.
In 2005, she won the "Audience Most Favourite Actress Award" and the "Best Performing Arts Award" at the 6th China TV Golden Eagle Awards" for her role in the TV series "Ren Changxia". In the following years, she won several other awards and honorary titles.
